Support for Parents of Neurodivergent Children

Parenting a child who learns, feels, or behaves differently can feel exhausting and isolating. You carry big hopes for your child — but the daily challenges, the emotional overwhelm, the uncertainty about what to do next, can make it hard to keep going.

I help families feel steadier and more confident, equipped with real strategies that make daily life smoother — without long waitlists or confusing jargon.

Hi, I’m Laura,

I'm a UK-qualified primary teacher (QTS, 2015) and additional needs specialist with over 10 years experience supporting neurodivergent children and their families.

Before moving to Sydney, I worked in UK schools as a SENCo, SEN lead and classroom teacher — sitting with hundreds of families who were exhausted, confused, and desperate for someone to just tell them what to do next.

I watched too many of those families stuck in limbo. Waiting months for assessments. Feeling unheard by schools. Trying strategy after strategy without anyone helping them understand why their child was struggling in the first place.

That's why I created NeuroKind. Because families shouldn't have to wait to get support. And because the right understanding — of your child's specific wiring, triggers and strengths — changes everything.

Supporting Families Through

Life’s Hardest Moments

Supporting Families Through Life’s Hardest Moments

I’ve sat with parents who feel:

  • Exhausted

  • Worried

  • Quietly guilty — wondering if they’re doing something wrong

My journey began in schools, supporting children with:

  • Anxiety

  • ADHD

  • Autism

  • Trauma

  • Emotional regulation difficulties

  • Dyslexia

  • Sensory processing challenges

  • PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)

  • Other additional needs

Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of children aged 4–11 and their families, helping them make sense of what their child is communicating through behaviour.

I’ve spent years:

  • UK-qualified teacher (QTS, 2015) with over 10 years in primary and special educational needs

  • Former SENCo and SEN lead in UK mainstream schools

  • Extensive experience supporting children aged 4–11 with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, PDA, sensory processing challenges, anxiety and emotional regulation difficulties

  • Trained in attachment-informed and trauma-sensitive approaches

  • Experience collaborating with psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and paediatricians

  • Supported hundreds of families navigating the space between concern and diagnosis

“Children don’t need perfect parents. They need supported ones.”

I’ve spent years:

  • Writing and supporting Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Leading special educational needs provision

  • Collaborating with psychologists, therapists, and health professionals

Trusted by Families Across the UK

Parents often tell us they finally felt heard and finally understood their child.

"During an overwhelming time for our family, Laura provided steady, compassionate support. She helped us understand our child’s needs clearly and guided us through next steps with confidence and care. What mattered most was her focus on what would genuinely help our child flourish — not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. We felt supported as a whole family, not just as parents.”

I can't thank Laura enough for the care, patience, and understanding she has shown my son Bailey over the last 3 years. She has taken the time to really get to know his needs, strengths, and triggers, and responded with kindness and reassurance.

I would highly recommend Laura to any family needing compassionate and highly skilled SEN support.
